Tamagotchi is a handheld pet digital game that was created in the year 1996. The game is designed in the form of a video game in an egg shaped manner with three buttons each labeled A, B and C, which allow the user to use different functions in the game. The original version of Tamagotchi was first released in Japan in the year 1996 and then released in United Stats and Europe in the year 1997. The game included seven characters along with two were teen characters, a baby character and a toddler character. The original Tamagotchi included two versions called as Generation 1 and Generation 2 also known as P1 and P2 respectively. Both the generations of Tamagotchi have different characters and are unique in the game play.
Early Tamagotchi Releases
In the year 1997 the Tenshitchi no Tamagotchi was released in Japan with three unique designs. There was also an English version released in America and Europe that was named as Tamagotchi Angel. Both of these versions were referred to as Angelgotchi. The next version was released in the year 1997 only in Japan known as the Mesutchi and Osutchi. The version consisted of 31 characters. In the month of February 1998 a new version was designed called as Mori no Tamagotch which also meant Tamagotchi Forest. The version was actually planned to be released in America as Tamagotchi Garden but was not released. Along with this also followed the next version called Umi no Tamagotch meaning Tamagotchi ocean. This version was released in March, 1998 in Japan with four unique colours. The version was also released in America the same year but was renamed as Tamagotchi Ocean.
Recent Tamagotchi Releases
Tamagotchi Cyber Pet is one of the latest craze among the young children aged between 6 to 10 years. The version of cyber pet was re- introduced in the market in the year 2006 and with the success of the first version the makers of Tamagotchi Bandai.com have designed the next version which is already touching the skies. The version 3 of Tamagotchi is much similar to version 2 with only a few added changes. The version is designed in six unique colours and has included new characters and a few new games with new items. Before these versions, in November 2005 a version called The Entama was released in Japan. This was the first Tamagotchi versions that could be connected to the computer. The user could play the game on the computer by just reaching the site address. The version has included a total of 58 characters and the game play was designed a bit different.
